What is offline attribution?
Offline attribution is the practice of tying an in-store visit or purchase back to the marketing that caused it. Online, a click carries its own receipt. In a store there is no click, so the trail from a post to a sale breaks at the door.
The usual stand-ins each miss something. A printed code is anonymous and works from anywhere. A promo code proves a purchase, not a visit, and travels freely. The "store visits" an ad platform reports are modelled estimates, not people. Onlure counts the walk-in itself, at the counter, and ties it to the post, flyer or ad that sent the customer.
How does Onlure attribute a walk-in?
Each walk-in is verified at the location and credited to the creator, flyer or ad that sent the customer; a purchase counts only when it appears in your own records. Nothing is modelled, sampled or surveyed. How the verification works is proprietary; book a demo to see it live.
Every verified walk-in is one row in the brand's dashboard: who sent the customer, through which channel, which store, when, and what they bought when the register is connected. Cost per walk-in is shown by creator and by channel, so a brand rebooks what worked.
What does a verified walk-in cost?
C$6 when a creator sent the customer, of which C$3 goes to the creator; C$3 when a flyer or static ad did. Both draw from the reserve inside your campaign budget, never from an open-ended bill, and a creator's walk-in pay stops at C$80 per required post. No verified walk-in, no walk-in charge.
What does a verified walk-in establish, and what does it not?
A verified walk-in establishes that a customer sent by a specific creator, flyer or ad came into the store: counted at the location, credited to that source, with the store and the time. It does not establish that the customer would have stayed home otherwise. Incremental lift is a comparison against a control group that saw no campaign, which Onlure does not run; what you get is attributed visits at a known cost each, which you can set beside what the same budget buys on other channels.
Which campaigns can be attributed?
Yes, once the campaign is connected: flyers and static ads get Onlure links of their own and are measured per verified walk-in at C$3 each; a Meta or Google ad is measured when it points at an Onlure link; a Square register, an online store (Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Squarespace, Wix or Stripe) or an app on RevenueCat reports the purchase from your own records. Walk-in verification is live for beta brands and Shopify stores today; book a demo to set it up for yours.
In store, the register is Square today, with Shopify POS and Clover coming. Online, stores on Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Squarespace, Wix or Stripe are connected on the Integrations page and report completed checkouts. Apps on RevenueCat report purchases. Each surface is listed with what it reports; none is promised beyond that.
How do I compare cost per walk-in with other channels?
Compare the all-in cost per verified walk-in with the cost per customer your other channels report, and check what each one counts. On Onlure, divide everything the campaign cost (content fees, walk-in charges and view pay) by its verified walk-ins: World Soccer Party came to about C$11.80 per walk-in and Simi African Foods to about C$13.50. Ad platforms report a cost per click or a modelled store visit, so put a walk-in beside a counted purchase or a counted visit, never beside a click.
Is offline attribution available outside Toronto?
Onlure runs in Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area today. A brand elsewhere in Canada can ask for a capability check on a demo.
